Getting introduced to studio Nerdi in 2018, I was also eager to start publishing a magazine alongside my work.
That was when I started designing studio Nerdi.
Today, in October 2021, the 3rd edition of the magazine is finished, and each and everyday new person is added to our team! This cooperation, even though very far away from one other, signifies our special big teamwork.
Internal Design strategy
Years ago while probing into myriad art styles and schools, I came across Der Blaue Reiter. A picture depicting few horses in blue with no specific framing and structure Delving further, i noticed the art movement called abstract expressionist was about to form then. The so called movement is inspired by surrealism and expressionism, and tries to converge the two art schools. Meanwhile, studying the pattern of behavior in the design of this issue, the pages of New York magazines from 1920 to 1940 grabs my attention. And I decided to choose Abstract Expressionism as the behavioral pattern for designing this issue. Due to “AbEx” had led New York to Paris as the center of world art and formed a visual connection in my mind that brought the design of the pages closer to the atmosphere of the current time. Therefore I photographed the old papers' texture and placed them in the form of scattered backgrounds on the pages. On some pages you will notice a picture of Ms. Ebrahimi riding a horse; This is the part that reminds me of Blue Rider Magazine. A journal with its publication in 1912 the `Excitement art symbol` emerged.
